Pets First Veterinary Center

924 Haverford Road
Bryn Mawr, PA 19010

It is safe to say that we are the oldest practice in Bryn Mawr, PA.:

Dr. J. Allyn Rogers, a 1926 graduate from the Veterinary School of the University of Pennsylvania, bought the practice from Dr. Powell (also a Penn graduate), who had owned the practice for 50 years.

"The house had been built in a hay field so I bought a lamb and put him on a twenty-foot clothesline and moved him a couple of times a day. The lamb not only produced a beautiful lawn but was a playmate for my little girl."  J. Allyn Rogers, V.M.D., The Animals and I, The Autobiography of a Veterinarian.

Dr. Rogers treated small animals in the morning from the office we are still using today, and then he went on farm calls.

In 1944 our practice was purchased by Dr. Chain, and in 1964 Drs. Lillian and Raymond Giuliani.

Dr. Curt D. Heyde started working for Dr. Lillian Giuliani in 1998 and purchased the practice in 2000, that's when in became Pets First Veterinary Center.

Many of the historic details are wonderfully described in Dr. J. Allyn Rogers autobiography.
